THE TUNE LINGERS ON

The song that I heard was one I could not sing

No words no music

Only the silent tune kept ringing in my ears

Rivers glow water rush

Into the ocean

Waves block their entrance

The echo the faint sound

Relayed by the wind

No words no music

Only the silent tune kept ringing in my ears

Is it preferable to be deaf

but you can hear

or to be blind

that you can see

As day breaks to dawn

To set in the evening shadows

The breeze in the wind

Carries the song

The tune the melody

heats a broken heart and soothes a troubled soul

No words no music

Only the silent tune kept ringing in my ears

and yet…
